Gyms and Sports Clubs

Many Americans go to a gym or sports club to get some exercise and stay fit. In some cases you can pay for each visit as you go. In other cases, you pay by the week, by the month, or for an annual (yearly) membership.

You can check online for gyms or sports clubs near where you live or work. Most will allow you to visit at no charge so you can see if you like the equipment and surroundings.

Having a Harvard ID allows you to go to the Vanderbilt Hall Athletic Facility. To learn more, go to http://hms.harvard.edu/departments/vanderbilt-hall/vanderbilt-hall-athletic-facility.

Sports Leagues

Both Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital offers Sports Leagues that you may wish to join. Ask at each hospital if you would like more information.

  • MGH Sports Leagues include Basketball, Bowling, Softball teams, and you can also join the Running Club.
  • BWH Sports Leagues include the Running Club and occasionally Yoga.
