Measurements, Dates, Etc.

Dates

Dates are formatted as month/day/year. For example, July 4, 2015 is written 7/4/2015 or 7/4/15.

Measurements

The U.S. does not regularly use the Metric System to measure things, unless laboratory measurements are involved. For example, in everyday life we use:

  • Ounces and pounds instead of grams and kilos
  • Miles instead of kilometers
  • Fahrenheit instead of Celsius

Currency

The dollar is the official currency in the U.S. Be careful when shopping because all paper currency is the same size and color.
